Masque Milano - Russian Tea and the winner drink "Crossroads". |
On 13th of November 2017 the Old Fashioned
Bar hosted the Beefeater MIXLDN 2017 international competition. On the winners stand, the
first place was won by Miroslav Telehanic, from Bratislava’s Sky Bar, with the
drink called Crossroads. The assignment was a cocktail based on Beefeter or
Beefeter 24, inspired by the city in which the competitor lives and works.
Miroslav Telehanic: “The drink was inspired by old
Bratislava, as it was a crossroad between two Capitals, Budapest and Vienna.
Because of this Presporok sprung up, where merchants met and sold various
goods. So, I became a merchant and literally sold the drink to the 3 members
jury.”
The drink is served on an old map of the city that is
perfumed with Russian Tea from Masque Milano. It is symbolic that this perfume
is inspired by travel and offers a scented picture of an old library
atmosphere. The jury gets at first an olfactive impression from the map, then
tastes the drink. The interaction of view, smell and taste combines it into
experience.

How Russian Tea became a part of a drink? Tony Velich,
the manager of Sky Bar talked to us, and asked if interested in a training for
the team from 1907. We said yes, and together developed ideas for combined
drinks with perfumes, respectively drinks combined with some perfume
ingredients. The effort was crowned by success, and one of the drinks you can
smell and taste in Sky Bar. This is how the inspiration of combing Russian Tea
and Crossroads came to life.

As mentioned at the beginning, Miro Telehanic,
Crossroads and Russian Tea are winners. They move on to the world finale,
taking place in February in London, and we keep our fingers crossed for Miro,
Crossroads and Russian Tea from Masque Milano. We hope that you will join us.
